I balance life in the busy media landscape by spending a lot of time in the solace of a marsh, a river or on the ocean. I've been a fisherman and outdoors-person my entire life and share those experiences in the wildest corners of California and Montana with my two sons and wife, all of whom are also adventurers.

DON'T CALL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT
(It's just my barbecue.) I spend a lot of time cooking and barbecuing for large groups, along with growing fruit and vegetables that our family is able to enjoy year-round.
